Sulfur (Rotten-Egg) Smell

Where the rotten-egg smell comes from
Hydrogen sulfide is produced naturally by sulfur-reducing bacteria in groundwater, and it often shows up in private wells — sometimes only on the hot side, where your water heater's anode rod can contribute to it. City water rarely has it because treatment plants oxidize it out. The smell is the tell; we confirm the level at the free water test.
How we remove sulfur odor
Sulfur is removed by oxidizing it so it drops out of the water — usually with an air-injection oxidation filter ahead of your softener, or a specialty backwashing media tank.
